I know some of you pay quarterly taxes, so it's pretty much year-round for you guys, I would think.

You know that extra money DH got (He did finally end up handing me $100!

I have been collecting the forms we need and organizing them for our accountant.

All my best,

Good job to all of you! I love to play around with taxes and plan. Of course we always get a refund....someday if we don't I'll probably put them off until April. LOL

Mine are done and will be e-filed tomorrow. It's nice to only have one W2 to worry about. I have the whole refund budgeted out - paying off our car, putting a bunch in savings, getting current on bills, etc. I have a ton of plans :)

Need to get Turbo Tax this weekend. They make it so easy. I also need to add up all the numbers for interest that we won't get statements on. Two forms need to be printed off-line but they won't be available until tomorrow.

If our refund is around where it usually is then DH is going to get LASIK this year. He's told me I can get it next year. Since he is in the military there is always a chance of him getting deployed somewhere in the Middle East and it would be much easier for him not to worry about contacts and glasses and to me that is money well spent.

I have mine done and all ready to go, but the government won't take them until tomorrow. I think they are getting bomborded tomorrow.

And unfortunately, most of that money is going to the CC. Oh, well. We did enjoy and continue to enjoy those purchases.

I can at least say that now. Before it was just basically all food that I paid for forever; I ate it, digested it, and disposed of it and I was still paying for it. Sad, very sad.

I used Turbo Tax last year and loved it! It was so easy to just input data into it, and when there was something I could'nt understand, they had little "help" links to click on for more info. I felt like a professional tax preparer! LOL! But this year, now that Dh and I are doing everything as a team, I am going to wait and talk with him once all our forms arrive and discuss what we would like to do. Dh liked the accountant we used one year in the past, and I prefer Turbo Tax, so we'll have to weigh the pros/cons. I've gotten all our receipts for charity items ready, and we got an email from Etrade saying we can print out our tax forms from their site now, but I still need our W-2s, mortgage interest statements (1st and 2nd mortgages), bank interest forms, and a 1099 for a small life insurance policy that pays a dividend. We'll probably file our taxes sometime in mid-Feb or early March. :-)

Same here! My Dh is planning to get Lasik surgery also this year with our tax return. Originally, we had planned to put it towards debt, but when we looked at our yearly budget, we realized that it's ok to take our refund and spend it on this, rather than debt. Dh is excited about it, and I'm happy that he gets to do something good for himself (he hates dealing with his contacts), and we won't have to buy contacts or solution anymore, so over time, there's a savings there also. LOL! :-D

We haven't met with an eye doctor yet, but one of Dh's co-workers apparently had eye surgery by a very highly-thought-of doctor in Atlanta that has worked on some of the Atlanta Falcons players, etc. He's supposed to be really good, but very expensive. Our vision plan pays a small part of the cost of eye surgery, so we'll have to see if we can pay the remaining part with our refund. I want to be sure Dh gets a good surgeon. That's the only part that worries me.

I've done some preliminary numbers(I use taxcut)we will be getting a nice refund to. I know some recommend against this but it works for us. We will get all our medical checkups out of the way(eyes, physicals), get our car fixed, pay off two little credit cards, put some in savings and my friends want to have a get together in Vegas(won't cost that much to fly there,my best friend lives there, so I don't have to spend any on a hotel and I don't gamble)

That trip to Vegas sounds like fun! And it's great that you're also taking care of your health needs, making the car repair, paying off two smaller cards, and still having enough to have some fun! That's really great! Have fun in Vegas!
