What's for dinner?

Have you thought about what you are eating tonight? Do you have something at home already, or will you be picking something up? This is one of my triggers! Actually, I have been eating turkey since Monday at least one meal per day (which I don't mind since I don't cook it too often). It always happens that i go grocery shopping without the inventory up to date in my head LOL! They eat faster than i track, so i forgot the velveeta for the grilled cheese sandwiches. i bet that will end up being lunch tomorrow, though. I broke down last night and ordered pizza (3 mediums for $15 and we still have half of it left). Weekends get on my nerves because work most longer shifts on the weekends. I think I'll probably have pizza again, becasue even though I have other stuff I can cook, my husband doesn't mind if I don't get around to cooking, and the kids will eat just about anything. I think I'll try to squeeze in a nap. Heather

I didn't cook anything tonight. We had left over from yesterday. My husband left with his so-called best friend to the company's Holiday party. The firm always have their holiday party in January. I think it's because it's cheaper.

Fresh bread! That's what I'm having. Maybe some scrambled eggs. But defintely fresh baked bread (it *just* came out of the breadmaker, yuuuummmm).

I hate cooking too, but fortunately DH loves to cook. We (DD& I) may not like what he makes, but hey.

All week at school I ate PB & J. For lunch and dinner. But I also didn't go out to eat, so I suppose it's all good.

Weekends are somewhat easier here. It's when we make a 'better' dinner than during the week when we're running in 43 different directions every night!

Lisa,
I would love to get a bread maker. How do you make the bread? Is it a difficult process?

Nope-it's as easy as dumping in all the right ingredients and pushing the start button!

We received our first breadmaker as a wedding present from DH's parents. That was back in 1993 when they were still over $150.00. We used that one at *least* once a week until it died early 2004-I remember this because at the time we were going through the Financial Peace classes, and because it wasn't an absolute 'necessity' we were going to try and save a little out of each paycheck and wait for them to go on sale. We lasted 4 DAYS, ROFL!!! We raided every envelope we had, "Well, we can take some out of the 'Food' envelope because it makes FOOD, and we can take some out of the 'Gas' envelope because we're going to use GAS to get to the store, and we can take some out of 'Fun' because it's sure FUN to have a breadmaker..." (Really-that's about how the reasoning went!) Anyway, we got a mid-range 1.5 lb. model for about $40-50. And we use it about once or twice a week-defintely everytime my stepkids are here! One loaf doesn't make it past the next day for us, but that's OK.

My mom had sent us a breadmaker recipe book that we were going to work our way through and see which ones we liked. We never got past the first one-it's a basic white bread. I also use the breadmaker to make the dough for overnight cinnamon rolls and pizza dough.

It's one of the best gifts I have ever received!
