Tomorrow is a holiday....If you have no mail or no bank service, does that mess up your plans for paying an important bill on time this week?

No as far as bills go and sending them through the mail, I always pay them as I get them and if I have to wait a few days because of holidays, it doesn't crimp my plans. My bills are paid way before the due date except rent and my car payment. My car payment is due on the 15th but since the 15th was on a Saturday and my bank is never ever open on a Saturday, I paid it on Fri. But it really works out for me. My dh gets paid on the 15th. If the 15th falls on a Saturday or Sunday or holiday, he gets paid on Friday or the day before. I'm always covered. And of course rent is on the 1st and dh gets paid on the 1st but if it happens like the 15th, I don't pay rent till Monday or the day after the holiday. The office here isn't open on weekends so they can't expect us to pay rent when they aren't here lol and we have until like the 5th before we are late on our rent.

Since dh works for a bank, I LOVE bank holidays! Now if only the kids school breaks would coincide.....

Thankfully, no.

However, it will probably be messed up for a lot of people I work with. The Friday paychecks were so messed up with the new year changes, mine didn't even have an amount on the check. The company had to redo them all and cut live checks for everyone. Since I was supposed to go to a dr appt, I asked if they could get mine early...early meant 2:30...meaning the checks wouldn't post until after Friday. Some folks were SOL this weekend.

I nearly passed out when I saw the amount on mine ...the amount was supposed to go UP NOT DOWN until I realized I had re-enrolled in my 401K at 6%.

haha...blonde moment there

cheers,
