Someone on here has posted several times that she makes homemade chocolate pies and that keeps her from running to fast food places or out to eat a lot. Here's my question and yes, it is begging: Can you please, please, please, please post the receipe.
I am a HUGE chocaholic and in 27 days will be giving birth to my third child (scheduled c-section). I need chocolate and I need it NOW. I don't want to pay the prices they charge for frozen (aren't that great) and the ones the bakeries have are outrageously expensive in my experience.
So, if you could help a pregnant lady, it would be greatly appreciated.
Oh and if anyone has any receipes for things that can be made a head of time (casseroles, etc.) and frozen, my DD, DS and DH would be greatful. My DD and DS don't look forward to living on pizza and mac and cheese while I am in the hospital and that is about all DH can cook. So far, I have got spaghetti sauce and lasgana and will have a turkey tetrazinni by the end of the week.
Thanks,
Kellie

I'm the chocolate pie lady! (Thouhg I hope you're not terribly disappointed that it is not some fabulous made from scratch recipe!) I make a homemade deepdish piecrust
2/3 c shortening, 2 c flour, 4-6 TBSP cold water and bake the crust .
Let the crust cool, and prepare 2 small pkgs of Jello chcolate pudding (not the instant stuff..and use onkly 3.5 c milk) Poour the pudding into the piecrust and chill for four hours. It goes really great with rediwhip (from the can) and if you need even more chocolate, crush some oreos and sprinkle on top! There..I gave it away..I am no fabulous cook, but its yummy just the same! Happy eating! Heather
What about chili? I make a pot of it at the time, and we like to have it reheated. Also stews.
I really wish I was one of those wonderful cooks who could pull out tons of useful recipes for you, but all i can do is wish you luck.
Although I have a really good muffin recipe :) and a cinnamon coffee cake (no coffee in it, though) that my dad really likes, if you want to freeze baked stuff for snacks.
Maybe your DH is like my Fi, who can't cook either, but has discovered that he can grill things. So we just buy fish, and he grills it with some peppers, and voila! he can cook!
(We have a George Foreman grill that my mom got us).
Thanks for the suggestions. DD doesn't really like chili or stews. But then again she doens't like spaghetti sauce because of the tomatoes, but only likes catsup on her hamburgers.
I loved my George Forman Grill, but discovered if you knock it off the kitchen counter, it won't work anymore (something about being in a hundred peices). I am going to buy one of the new ones after payday (FEB 1) because it was so convinent. I found a small one online for $40 less than the larger ones they advertise and the grill pans can go in the dishwasher! Can't wait.
