If you follow the above link, and scroll down, there are two sites suggested for obtaining a free credit report. You have to enter cc info and sign up for their credit monitoring service, but you can cancel immediately after receiving your credit report and they will not charge your cc. I tried both of them this morning, and had better luck with the transunion one, which allowed me to cancel online with no hassle (and sent me an email confirmation that it had been cancelled). The other one was low-hassle, but I did have to call an 888 number and speak with someone who tried to talk me out of cancelling, but it wasn't high pressure. I checked mine and dh's using the transunion one, and it was worth it.

Speaking of which (drum roll please)... mine and my dh's credit scores are in the upper 700's!! (783 and 798 respectively). Woo-hoo!! Dh's was in the low 500's a year and a half ago, but thanks to aggressively paying down debts, contesting (and winning) a couple of items, and the additional time since our last delinquint payments (now three years), our scores have shot through the roof. Hurray!

Anyway, thought I'd share the link. Take care,

Heather
