Today is a rough day fro me, because I'm feeling under the weather, and my dh isn't coming home until 8pm, even though he was scheduled off at 4:30...he's a manager so he has to take care of things. When I'm feeling blah about our debt reduction efforts, I pull out my spreadsheet and see how far we have come.

All my best,

Sorry you're feeling poorly...sometimes I feel like I'm running on one of those hamster wheels.

What I like to do:

1. count the change in my change jar. For some reason, rolling the coins up makes me feel better about the debt situation, even though it's not very much

2. a really long shower. (Our bathtub is really small).

3. baking - fresh chocolate chip cookies really help.

When I am feeling blah, I try to think of all the positive things I have in my life. It's so easy to focus on the feelings at the moment, but I bet if you think about it, you could think of someone who was were you are now, and how they made it through okay. I listen to music, especially the 80's music (the music of my YOUTH) lol, and it takes me back to a time when I felt happy, free, and like anything was possible, and when I get that feeling back, I can usually accomplish anything that I have been putting off. Cleaning out a closet, a drawer, getting rid of clutter for me helps. When I am organized in my home, I feel like I am organized in my life. Fresh flowers, scented candles, a clean house, it all gives me the atmosphere that I need to feel at peace. And it helps me hang onto a sense of accomplishment. Some other ideas for you: organizing or putting together a photo album, adding a new coat of paint to your bedroom wall (COLOR!), calling an old friend and "catching up", clipping coupons, watching an old sitcom/comedy, baking, going window shopping at a bridal store, going to a pet store and looking at the CUTE pupppies! Planting flowers in your garden, pruning a houseplant, having a romantic dinner waiting for your H when he gets home from work and spending quality time together, I could go on forever, but you get the idea, and of course, anything with chocolate!! Cheer up! Your mood can take you where you tell it to! You have power! Go, girl!

Well, I made it through the day! I cooked a turkey breast with stuffing, and chocolate pie. I called a friend I haven't talked to in three years. I played silly games with the kids, and I will watch ER, since I taped it Thursday but haven't had a chance to watch it. i called in sick, still not feeling great, but now at least i will be able to go to bed early, instead of getting off at 1AM. It wasn't a great day, but it is almost over. We are making progress, we are, but I am certainly prone to feeling defeated, especially when I am not feeling well. Off to enjoy a piece of chocolate pie (thanks for the ideas:) Heather

Yep...I know those "blahs".

Here are some of my remedies (with the kids they don't always work though).
