I really did... I couldn't sleep last night thinking about whether or not we were going to be in trouble because of this or that and not get that money from our taxes. But today was a new day, not the best of starts to be honest but I said one last prayer (I'm really not an overly religious person honest LOL)before walking into the accountants office and after she was done doing her magic she came up with $5,334 for us !!! WoooHoooo !!! That's not including the $491 from state. I was so happy I could have floated out of my chair and kissed her. And the even more wonderful part is that I think (THINK) that dh and I have actually come to an agreement on the things we're going to pay off and how much we're going to spend on misc other stuff (I want to stock up on groceries as well as small items (like bathroom stuff) that we always seem to need). We are also going to splurge I think and get a hotel room, just for the night, in a couple of weeks when my brother gets married. It might seem like an extravagance but I think it's something we really need to do.

You really have no idea how good I feel right now!!! LOL

P.S. In case you didn't notice I managed to change my name from sillymomto1 to the one above. I figured now that I have two kids, it wasn't fair to only mention one. :)

Have a great day everyone !!!

very happy for you :) and just so you know - I don't think splurging to strengthen your marriage is an extravagance! Divorce is very expensive....

That is just wonderful! It's funny because today I thought, I'm going to start buying lottery tickets. LOL! But please - be careful you don't splurge and spend the whole thing. Put some of that money on debt. I know for some of us - when we get any substantial amount of money - the first thing we want to do is splurge. A little splurging is good and NECESSARY once in a while, but don't forget your debt!

Normally this isn't the kind of thing I would splurge on but the night in question is the night that my brother is getting married, which is the only reason it even occured to me. I just think that we need a little time alone together. That is if we can even find someone to watch our kids all night long since the people that normally would, will be at the wedding also.
