Have money, will spend!

Well, here's my problem. We are going on a vacation to FL next month. The plan is to visit my great aunt, who is in her mid 90s, and then spend four Days at Disney. Originally, we thought we would fly, then we settles on driving. (it is 1300 miles each way though). now we don't know what we are going to do because we are meeting up with in-laws at Disney, and the way they planned there trip makes it almost impossible for us to meet up with them if we drive down!!! (we took the time off from work a month ago, and they didn't decide what they were doing until this week.) ARGH!!! I don't want to spend 1000 and plane tickets, 200 to rent a car, 150 to park our car at the airport. We have the money to do so at this point, I'm just not feeling like it. i think I will try to priceline tix at the last minute, and if it doesn't work out, then we will drive as planned.
On another note, I want to go shopping!! I have been holding off for literally months, I even asked my dh to buy me clothes for valentine's day, but he wasn't comfortable picking them out. (I am very petite, so it is hard to find anything that will fit me) So tonight we are going to the mall. And aside from that, I need to spend about $200 on therapy supplies for my dd, I've been putting that off awhile, too. And then there are fees for registering the girls for gymnastics at the Y. So this is going to be an interesting week. Just because there is a couple thousand in my checking account right now doesn't mean I need to spend it all today. We will not debt for our vacation, this is why we were planning on driving in the first place. ARGHH! Send some thrifty vibes this way!!! LOL!!! Heather

I would keep your plans as they are. Drive down and enjoy yourselves at Disney. Your plans were made first. Your inlaws should have inquired about your plans and tried to make them mesh with theirs. Could your Dh let his parents know that your driving plans were made well in advance, in order to keep vacation costs lower, and that you both hope that your inlaws can make an effort to find a meeting point somewhere with you during the four days at Disney, even if it's only one day spent together as a group?
I hope you find some nice clothing during your shopping trip tonight, and enjoy your trip. :-D
Pat :-D
We talked with our inlaws, and we will be able to meet up with them all one day, and most of the rest of the group for three additional days without having to change our plans. I went to the mall and tried on a bunch of clothes at Aeropostale, but didn't buy any because i thought I might be a little to old to be prncing around in the clothes i was trying on. However, my dh told me I am not that old (only 28) I know they fit, I know where they are at, in about two weeks i will go back to the mall and buy whatever still strikes me! We are looking forward to our trip, and happy that we are using a bit of financial restraint. It will still be lots of fun!!! so I am a bit more upbeat today. We put limits on our spending, I bought what i needed for my daughter, and I went (gasp) grocery shopping so there is food in the house. All is well, thanks for the pep talk!!! Heather
