I sent in a dispute last month about a charge we shouldn't have had for the past few months which also resulted in over limit charges. Well, I just received the bill today and although the transaction was not on this months statement, the total amount of the other charges and overlimit fees weren't taken off. I have received no acknowledgement of the dispute and I know you don't have to pay any disputed charges while the dispute is taking place. When I disputed my mastercard one time, they at least sent me a letter saying they received my dispute and were looking into it. I am so not happy. They keep ticking me off. The cc isn't a very high limit card, $500. I sent in a $200 payment and hope to get it payed off in the next few months. It depends on how much I have to throw at it but it is my target card since I've paid off my other debts. (I only have 3 debts not including my car loan so YAY!) It's my dh's card, but he isn't here to dispute it but I also know he isn't using it cause we talk. I sent a copy of my POA in so it shouldn't be a problem for me to dispute unless they want to be butts about it. I told dh today when he called that when I pay it off, he needs to close that account and he agreed with me. Oh how I hate Capitol One!

I would call.
Good luck!
I have been lurking on this board for a couple of days! I have more debt than I really want to face (X-DH had a gambling problem), but it is time to clear it all up!
Anyway, on the subject, I also hate Capitol One. My advice is to close the card as soon as you pay it off. I was a customer of theirs for 8 years with no late payments and a high balance. I had one payment, one day late and they jacked up my interest rate to 27%. I called because normally if you have never had a late payment to a ccard, the company will waive the fee and not raise the rate. They refused to refund my late fee and even when I told them I would transfer my balance and close the account if they did not lower the interest rate, they were rude and told me they would not lower the rate. That same day I transfered the balance and closed the card as soon as it showed a zero balance. I have a lot of debt, but have managed to keep great credit (700 score) through my divorce and the hard years after. I'll never do business with Capitol One again.
Sorry for the rage there. I just hate that company!
