Thanks for posting the link to the trimming the fat tips. I started cutting my dryer sheets in half as soon as I read about it. I am sure when I have more time to look I will find even more great tips to help me save money. I noticed that you had to give up scones all but one day a week. I have a great recipe for scones so I thought I would share it with you. You may be able to make a batch for what you paid for one scone! That would be a great way to save money...and they are easy and delicious!! here you go...
Simple scones
2 C flour
1/3 C sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 stick frozen butter
1/2 C sour cream (I use fat free)
1 egg

*mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder and soda, and salt...grate the butter into the dry mix, mix with fork or hands until butter is mixed in. whisk egg and sour cream together then add to flour/butter mixture. Make a circle with dough and cut it in triangles or pat to 1/2-1 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. brush tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar before baking. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes for triangles, I'm not sure how long for the round ones. (watch them until they are just golden.)

I like to mix chocolate chips into mine...you could add anything you want. I love walnut chocolate chips and I want to try chocolate chip, dried cherries, and sliced almonds. Whatever you like! Enjoy!
