I have been considering trying to sell a few clothes and miscellaneous items on ebay. I checked out their information section but it all seemed very complicated with having to keep up with the auctions, ship items etc. Has anyone sold things on ebay with success? Is it worth the time and effort? Also, do clothes sell well there? Thanks for all of your information!

Hi Susan,

I've sold quite a few things on ebay without any problem. Well, the only problem is, once I log on to check my auctions, I generally look around for things I want to buy for myself! Besides that though, it's a great way to earn a little money and clear out a lot of clutter.

Good luck!

I don't know much about selling stuff on ebay. However, have you checked out consignment shops and/or store which buy used clothes? check yellow pages. Maybe there's some in your area.

Just a thought.

I have never had the best luck selling clothes on ebay. I think it has to be brand name and new with tags to really get anything for it. I have had quite a few things not sale at all. Then you still have to pay the insertion fee. I would rather donate them and take the tax break.
Recently though, I just sold my old cell phone (pre paid Virgin mobile) for $31 including shipping. I paid $59.99 for it and got a $50 rebate- so I really made out on that. I also sold a brand new build a bear outfit for about $13 with shipping. It was a duplicate gift for my daughter, so I didn't pay for it to begin with. I noticed that build a bear stuff was selling like crazy. Those, and a few books are the only things I really had luck with. Make sure you charge enough for shipping or you can end up losing money like I did once!

I think I will start with consignment stores and there is a large used book store in my area I can take books to. Thanks for your input! I may try ebay for my nicer items.

i've noticed brand new, designer things with the tags on them
sell well, as also, ---and this kinda isn't cool--- used, not
washed women's underwear items, sell very well.
