Hello..I have been reading this board for about 2 Months..
I just graduated from college in Dec.. No student loans because I had
a scholarship.. But ran up a credit card because I am supporting myself,
plus I had only a part-time job because of school.

Total on CC - $2281.00

Okay, I am only 23 and felt overwhelmed because of this amount and since I was
only making $9.00 at the time, I could never seem to lower my debt. My debt was
actually higher, but ever since I started reading this board, I became motivated
and snowflaked every penny I had..quit buying un-nessary things, made my lunch, made dinner everyday, and NEVER went to the mall .. All of the women's input on this board
helped me alot, and whenever I read someone lowering their debt, that just gave me
more motivation to budget some more in order for me to reach my goal..

A tax refund of $1200 is coming my way on March 11.. and its that much because of a summer
internship I did for $15.00/hr.. where we worked alot of hours.. Now if it wasn't because
of this board, I would have probaly wasted that money on shopping, entertainment and
other misc items.. reading the posts of everyone's experiences changed my mind drastically
and I have already instilled in my head that the $1000 of the tax refund will go
straight to my credit card, and 200 into my savings..

So after payment of $1000

CC total - $1181

I am now making $12/hr as an accounting assistant, and able to pay $100 a month toward the credit card.. so hopefully with that and other amounts snowflaked,I will be able to pay this off. Now that I have graduated, I am looking for a salaried position, and that of course means more income.. Hopefully that happens soon and I will be able to pay
cc even quicker..

I thank everyone who posts on this board, you lady's have helped me think better about
my debt..

:)

Welcome

I'm glad to hear that this board has helped you. Congrats on taking the right steps to payoff your credit cards now before they got out of hand.

Hello! All I want to say is Congrats! I'm more than twice your age and then some, but discovering this board has been a Godsend. You are well on your way to financial freedom - means a lot in these days and times. I only wish that I could be as fortunate as you today. Someone dear to me once told me a long time ago to leave those cc's alone, I wish I would have paid attention. I'm close to my goal, but still working on a few things. The folks here are awesome. I seldom post here, but glad I peek in once in awhile to hear the success stories - like you said it's motivating, keeps me on my toes (smile). Please stick around and let us know how you are doing. Take care and God Bless you.

Congrats!

Many of us on this board started out with just a few thousand in debt right out of college.

All my best,
Danni
