I haven't been here in a while, at least a few weeks...not even as a lurker. I was going through a little "funk" for about the past two months. I lost interest in everything. Cooking, baking, gym going, debt reduction, work, family, friends, even eating (which is totally unlike me...I love food)....no I'm not depressed....I have nothing to be sad about (that I know of anyway)....This "funk" I was in culminated in a kidney infection, and an upper respiratory infection. I've had a fever for the past two weeks. I've lost about 10lbs (putting me somewhere under 100lbs.) On top of all that it won't stop snowing. We've had 3 big storms in the past week. I'm soooo sick of shoveling.....
I think I'm just totally exhausted, mentally and physically....For the past two and a half years I was working seven days a week. After bending over backward for my stupid weekend job (that I've had for the past 5 years) they wouldn't even give me off for being sick (even had a doctor's note), so this weekend I worked, with a 102 fever.
Today I called them and told them I can't work every weekend anymore...starting NOW!!!!
I'll be working still, but only a couple shows a month instead of 4-5 a weekend.
Yeah, they're a little ticked off, but I don't care. I went to college, I have a good career, I don't need the extra money that much anymore. I'm almost out of CC debt. I'll have everything paid off in a month or so. And I'll have a couple grand in the bank.
Hopefully this will fix this funk I've been in.....Now if only it would stop snowing.....

You know, coming down with an illness can out you in a funk. Your body knows something is up before it actually gets sick. Also, you might want to consider the fact that you may have been depressed. My DH went throught similar period of being blue, losing interest and getting sick. His doctor told him he might have a mild case of depression. He told his doctor that he wasn't sad and everything was actually going very well for us. The doctor told him depression can be feeling blue and pulling away from things even when you have no reason for being sad. (He was actually more thorough in his explaination.)
GOod for you for drawing the line at work. It is so hard to say no sometimes, but a personal life and your health are important.
I hope you feel better,
Sandra
