Gosh, I didn't realize how important this board was to me, until I hadn't been able to at least lurk for a few days. Well, for those of you who remember, I was to have a c-section to deliver my third child. Liam was born on Feb. 18, weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz and was 19 inches long. Everyone is thrilled with him.

However, finacially things haven't gone so well. We discovered that when you put three kids, a dog, a double stroller and a playpen in a minivan, you have no room for anything else. We can't even get groceries in the back. Sooooo, DH bought a Suburban. (He was driving a Subaru which is smaller than a minivan so forget getting three kids in that). I don't feel bad about the purchase because we got it for $8000 under retail (with tax, title and license included) at a 5.5% interest rate. I understand the need for it now. We tried to go shopping Saturday and all of the bags ended up at my feet in the passenger seat. It will only push our debt free date off 10 months and everything will be ours.

I just need help getting DH to realize that he can't have everything he wants and we sat down last night and had a discussion about it. He fully understands that we have to really watch it, but with the amount I have been paying to cc's and other bills over the minimum limits if I have to I do extra for emergencies and can still make all of the bills.

All in all, things are going great for us and hopefully will continue so well.

Now, a question, does anyone know anything about online surveys. That could be a way for me to make a little money while the kids are asleep--if they are legit. I am just afraid that those things aren't legit and there's always a catch right? Is it one of those things that are too good to be true? Thanks for any info.

Hi Kellie - congrats on your #3! :)

You know - I have looked into online surveys - I have even joined some "legit" survey companies...and I think they're a huge waste of time.

All my best,
Danni

Thanks that was just the info I was looking for. It seems like every time I google something I get a "get paid to take a survey" pop up and it just seemed to good to be true, so I guess it probably is.

I joined the survey thing which was recommended by someone who got a check. Well, when they had a survey ready they would send notify me by email and I would go take the survey on their site. They just stopped sending me surveys even though I was accruing points at a decent rate. I had heard from a couple other people though that once you started nearing the points to cash in, they stopped sending you surveys. Yeah, I think it's too good to be true and if you do find one that pays, it won't be enough to really make a difference. I truly believe there is no such thing as easy money, unless you inherit or by huge luck of the draw win the lottery but we all know how often that happens.

I do surveys for Pinecone Research. They are great. All surveys pay $5.00. And for about every 10 I do, I get a product survey in the mail which pays another $5.00 and I get a free product.

I have been very happy with them, and I probably do anywhere from 2-6 a month.
