I tried to get my credit report from Trans Union and it didn't take a couple of my credit card numbers. Now it is saying I need to order them by phone, but when I call on the phone it says I cant get it until September...but I live in the Midwest and I know it was yesterday.
Also-I am POSITIVE the numbers I entered are right. So I dont want to try another place until I find out what I did wrong.
Any tips?? It wouldn't take my AMEX or my KOHLS card.

All my best,

If you tried yesterday and you live in the midwest, the sites were jammed yesterday. Transunion was having problems and came up with a "enter your credit or debit card info" to obtain your credit report. That was in error. You don't have to give them any cc info to obtain them. I printed a request from the website annualcreditreport.com to get all three credit reports by mail. I was having trouble getting them online. DH was only able to download one (I think Experian) and requested the other two by mail.
BTW, good thing we checked. Someone else's social showed up on DH's credit report, as did an address we have never lived at and a name we had never heard of. The problem with the social showed up back in 1996, was removed and I guess is now back on. The address belongs to the guy with the social and the name doesn't match anything we have ever heard of. Also, literally has 22 accounts that have been closed listed as paid/never late but not listed as closed. DH disputed those online and will dispute the rest of the info in writing. Credit bureaus do make it hard for consumers to keep up.

I went to get my credit reports yesterday and had a problem, too. I printed the ones from Experian and Equifax, but the Transunion site said I would have to do mine by phone, I had to jump through hoops about account numbers, etc. No idea why, but it was irritating. The first time I tried, they kept trying to charge me $9.50.

I noticed on the Transunion site it was either $5.95 or $8.95 for the FICO score. Transunion wouldn't allow me access to my credit report. It was the first day and they were having website problems so I ask for mine by mail. I did notice however, before I was kicked off, that they had a link to get your FICO.
HTH,

Lurker butting in here with the fees for the credit scores. I saw them listed on all 3 sites. Experian was the cheapest at $5; the other 2 were $5.95 and $6.95 (I don't remember which was Equifax and which was Trans Union).
(p.s. Sorry about the hat!)
