Moving dilemma!

Hello. I hope someone can give me some advice.
I'll try to explain my problem as briefly as possible.
My husband is a self claimed muscian( not active) with nerve damage espeically to his legs
and hasn't been able to find regular stable job. Therefore I've been paying most of the
rent for many years. As a result, I can no longer pay maxed up credit cards that my
credit is really bad plus I haven't been able to save any money. Now we have to move due
to our current residence leasing office refuse to renew the lease even though we have been
paying rent within same month. We hired attorney to negotiate with our leasing office
to possibly get relocation fee along with fair amount of deposit back.
In the mean time, we have to come up with 2 months rent for new place plus attorney fee.
We can't afford this! We are still about 2K short. We already asked for family help
before so that's out of question. I think it's difficult to find friend who can spare
2K. I wonder if there is a loan company I can use to make small monthly payments.
Any adivice is appreciated.

Thank you. {;*_*;}

Hi there - sorry to hear that things aren't going so well right now.

Honestly, any lender that would lend you money for this situation would be a predatory lender, probably with insane fees.

All my best,

I don't have any suggestion that will help you. I have always had problems with moving money. When I was first married we moved from Colorado to Arizona and we sold a car to get the $$. We did the same thing when we moved from Arizona to the east coast. Each time we just lived with one car for a while. When we sold our house when we separated in 2003, we used some of the house proceeds to get set up in separate apartments, and then when I moved again last year I had to take a $1,500 cash advance off one of my credit cards to pay for everything. I had saved up some money in anticipation, but when it came down to it I didn't have enough, I had to pay the deposit for the place I rented ($1,000 and it was going to be weeks before I got my previous deposit of $700 back), a full months rent at my old place and 2 weeks rent at the new place (to give us time to move out/move in), the movers (around $600, me and my 4 year old aren't too good at moving mattress, dressers and gazillion boxes by ourselves, and we had *no one* to help), up front payments and deposits to dd's new preschool (around $1,200) and other miscelleous expenses like buying boxes (when I had moved out of my house I did it over several weeks and used the same boxes over and over).

I know it can be hard, but I hope you can find some other way than taking out a loan - it will be very hard to pay it back if you end up with an astronomical interest rate and lots of fees. Try to find things you can sell intead.

Dear Danni,

Thank you for your reply.
I was beginning to wonder maybe I wrote to the wrong
message board.

Currently we are negotiating with new landlord to accept
one month rent+$500 deposit and one more month rent will be
paid later( preferably after we receive current deposit back).
Wish me luck.

Thanks again.

Dear Firstamendment,

Thank you for your reply.
Please see my update on reply to Danni if you haven't read it.

I feel at more ease to know I'm not the only one having difficult time moving.
That's one of my downfalls to think nobody will understand my situation.
Yeah, we should sell many things to make some moving fund as well as
make moving load smaller.

Thanks again!
