Thrifty Landscaping idea!

I got this idea from my Mom, and I'm using it this year to save money (and time!). I live in a neighborhood where everyone is expected to have beautiful landscaping and colorful flowers are the norm. Each year, I spend lots of money for flowers that, for some reason, die within a week or two, and then I rush back out to buy more and replace them. Hours in the hot sun, money wasted, not to mention the frustration.
Well, this year, I went to our local dollar store ("Dollar Tree") and bought bunches of little tea roses (tiny little roses) in red, pink, and white. Five of each color, so $15 total cost. I gathered the bunches together by color and pushed them into the ground amongst my always-green landscaping/bushes.
From the curb, no one can tell that they are tiny roses and they look like little azalea bushes. I have gotten many compliments about how beautiful my flowerbed looks since putting them out. When I let my neighbors in on my little secret, they were really surprised! A few of them said they would be looking for silk flowers for their yards also...especially for areas that get too much sun/shade and are difficult to grow anything in.
The best part is that for $15, I have beautiful flowers outside that I never have to water, cover in the last remaining frosts before Spring, etc. Stress-free gardening! :-D
I wanted to pass along the tip in case it might help someone else with Spring Landscaping costs. :-D
