I was working on my finances this morning...I have to finish the taxes today....so that's my GOAL for the day. I have all the calculations done, but now I have to go to the library today and write up the official copy. I'm not ready yet still to submit electronically.....I think I'm still old-fashioned!
I have to GET READY FOR THE NEW JOB this coming week. I was looking at last year's income statement, and feeling a bit depressed, but that's all behind me now!!!!!!!! I am going towards something better (I hope!) and a better paycheck. AND BETTER BENEFITS!!!!!!
I was comparing my financial condition against the figures from a month ago...no change. At least it is not worse. I am going to making a bigger personal effort to make things better financially. I will clip my coupons this morning.......just for a starter.
I am still chip-chopping away at the car repair bill from last month. Bit by bit....as much as I can every day. Snowflaking, snowflaking....$5 here, $5 there.......slow but FORWARD anyway!!!!! Those baby steps......... Well, what has been interesting is hearing myself say, "I can't do XYZ until I pay off the car repair bill." Usually I am just going ahead and doing whatever anyway without thinking that I have to get things paid down NOW so I'll be in a better condition to do the next thing later.......case in point: Last night a friend and I were on the phone and Internet dreaming of a weekend getaway, and we were looking at hotels still in dream-mode, but in the past I would have just made the reservations anyway.......I just kept saying, "Well, I can't do this until I pay off the car repair bill." That was GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! I am a long way off from it being paid off, but I know at some point I will have it paid, and maybe along the way some othwer things will be paid down as well.
Really, for me, part of my debt journey is to adjust my behaviours and create better habits. This is a good start.
