Vacation makes my sanity....

fly out the window. Oh well, we are home now. We went to Florida for the week, and spent four days (and way too much money) at Disney. It was cold, and rainy :(. We drove 1360 miles to get there, same to come home. Two of the days were magical, two days i spent shivering. My dd with autism learned more in a few days at Disney than she has been learning in her therapy. Watching her so tuned in to everything (last time we took her she didn't care if Mickey Mouse was an inch form her face)..well, that is priceless. She chased Piglet, she was very much a kiss-face to both Mickey and Minnie, and even Stitch. Yes, my little five year old peanut even enjoyed the Tower of Terror.
So anyhow, at some point we broke down and started using a cc (no interest for a year), spent too much. (We weren't buying that many souvenirs, but because it was so cold and rainy, we did end up buying sweatshirts all around, ponchos too. We could have gone back to our rooms to get them, but when you are that cold, being rational goes out the window) So now we have to rein it back in a bit. I went to Wal-Mart Sunday and bought $35 worth of groceries that will last us four days. At Disney, some of our meals were $100! (My dh actually ordered a $10 milkshake! I had a talk with him about that one.) Oh, and we didn't book a room for the trip home because we didn't know how far we'd drive. That was a mistake, because there was some NASCAR thing going on and we couldn't find a room anywhere within a 200 mile radius. We ended up sleeping at a rest area for three hours and basically we made the return trip in 26 hours counting sleep! Horrendous!!! (but it saved us some bucks and we got home sooner.) Anyhow, this is a minor debt setback, we paid for all of our lodging and tickets with cash, and we realy were trying to keep it under control. I have already decided we are going again in September 2006. Thats a year and a half away, so we better make soem progress between now and then, huh? (I told my older dd that when she is 20 we will live there for a month! LOL!!!) March is not the time to go...besides the weather, we got stuck on rides two days in a row that broke down...including Space Mountain...mid ride they had to turn all the lights on and push our car down the tracks until we came to a big hill. Definitely a bummer! Anyhow, back to reality!!!! I don't go back to work until Thursday!!!
