Hi! I am enjoying the new job so far...well, I haven't done much actual work...will be training for a while. In the meantime there is a lot of new employee stuff to do: Forms to fill out, information sessions, etc....so busy, but will be doing real work probably in a couple more weeks.

I like the people, the desk is great, the view from the office windows is nice, the location is interesting, I sit over a food court, the work is familiar as I was doing something similar last week at the old job.........AND REAL BENEFITS!!!! (peace of mind!!!)

I'm trying to get used to a whole new routine....CULTURE SHOCK. I still have to figure it out. I have to get a few things, too, to make the transition easier like a better work bag and new sneakers.............that's not unreasonable.

This new job, however, can be rather expensive for me....I am working on it....the food court is not cheap, transportation is difficult........at least I don't feel like competing in the fashion show swirling around me when I go to lunch......getting older means I can be out of fashion and not care! Yea!!!!! One interesting thing is that there is not much tempation around where I work to charge anything. I am surrounded by banks that make me think I have to save my money! One of the banks for a credit card I have is across the street from my building. Snowflakes?????!!!!!!

littlesbigs, so good to hear that so far the job is going good. That's awesome. As for the whole culture shock - I think that's natural, it's like being the new kid at a new school, lol...soon it'll wear off and once the training is done, you'll get in the swing of things.....Very intresting that you work over a food court, that would be way too much temptation for me...lol

Congrats on the benefits - you're right that does provide peace of mind.

:)
