You know I could probably did out of this hole if my IE (Idiot Ex) would pay her child support and her share of the kid's medical bills.

Yeesh!

Hi. Do you have a home with equity? Could you refinance to get you out of the credit card debt and free up some cash so that you can manage to make it those months when the child support doesn't show up? People here will say don't refinance to get out of credit card debt, but if your debt was not created from your own compulsive shopping, and is more a function of the divorce and debts from the marriage you got stuck with, refinancing or getting a home equity loan might help. Also, CCCS might be an option, many times they can negotiate lower interest rates and lower monthly payments. Would that be an option?

Let's see....

a) I have no equity in the house....just bought it... 100% financed and interest only for 3 years.

b) The rates on my remaining cards (the ones I am paying) averages around 10%. I'm in collections with MBNA and expect Capital One to start soon....but hey, they struck first when I was making my payments...so screw'em.

c) I am slowly digging out, it would just be easier if the CS and the other money I'm owed would come in.

Wow, I am sorry to hear about your situation. I wish I had some good advice for you, except to hang in there. It's hard to make it when you have to rely on someone else to come through with money. My ex left me with a ton of bills and two kids to raise and support on my own. I pay all of their medical and dental and basically everything else. He just started paying child support in August, but only pays about $100/month, which doesn't go very far, especially since school lunches are right around that per month. Hope things improve for you. Take care.
