capital one customers watch out!

So last night I was checking our various accounts, just to make sure everything was in order. Now we rarely use our capital one card and it is paid off every month. So imagine my surprise when at $45 charge for "Hot Line" appeared on the bill. I called the number listed near the charge and was shocked to discover it was capital one affiliated company. The charge was for three years worth of identity theft protect! We never signed up for this! Hey isn't that fruad? Charging people for something they didn't agree to?
I told the guy on the phone last night to reverse the charge. Since they did this unethically, I can't trust them to protect my identity. Anyway, I am also calling capital one today to complain.
Its our oldest card (15 years) so cancelling it would hurt our credit score.
GRRRR!

Yeah, I've had problems with Capital One too. I mistyped a online payment one-time, and instead of pay something.74, I paid somethint.47.
Capital One put me on the default rate the next month...so, after a few months of haggling with them, I said screw it and quit paying them. So, when their bill comes in every month, it goes into the "Don't Pay" file.
Eventually, they send a collection agency after me and I'll offer 10 cents on the doller and make them call it paid in full on the credit reports!
I have a friend in the collections business.
