My business is rockin'! Woo-hoo!

Well, as many of you know, at the beginning of this year, I diverted my small amount of freelance income (about $250 a month) from paying extra on our debts to a new venture in communications training.
My hope was that the new business would provide a larger stream of income so that we could pay the debt down more quickly.
So far so good!!!! It's only four months later, and I've already made a profit. I invoiced more last month than in the prior twelve months of freelance work. This month already I have grossed more than in the prior twelve months. Out of that gross, I set money aside for taxes, charity, long term savings, short term savings, and operating expenses. What is left after those business items are taken care of, I send to our debt.
This will be the first month I've had any left over, but it will be in excess of $1000, even if I receive no more checks this month (and I will probably receive a couple more before end of month).
This means that at the end of this month, our largest debt will hit the under-10k mark, and our total unsecured debt will hit the under-20k mark, all at once. Woo-hooooooo!!!!!!!
I can hardly believe it. If thing continue as they are, we will be completely debt free in less than a year. Un-freakin-believable. Our original projections had us in debt for an additional three years.
If things pick up even more, who knows how soon we'll be out. It's hard to imagine. It's all happening so fast!! And, of course, our net worth is increasing by more than our debt is decreasing, because I'm also setting so much aside in savings for the business, which should enable us to do more and exciting things in the future.
And, I have got to be the most blessed mom on earth. I get to do it all part-time from home!!
I know I always say this when posting a celebration, but I want all the new people to hear it too. YOU CAN DO THIS TOO. It may not work out exactly the way it has for me, but I want you to know I've been where you are--behind on all my bills, creditors calling several times a day, utilities threatening to shut off, credit in the dumps, packing up boxes to move in with extended family. Dh got a (poorly paying) job just in time to save us moving in with family. Instead, we moved to a cheap apartment, sold nearly everything, refinanced our car, and I got a job waiting tables at a bar at night.
From there, we have moved to here. Hard work, creativity, ingenuity, resourcefulness. They're in you, too.
Blessings to all,
Heather

Congrats, Heather.
That is great news.
