I posted a while ago about my job dilemma…I wasn’t getting paid regularly (I didn’t receive a paycheck the ENTIRE month of Jan). This had caused DH and I to get in a pretty deep hole. All CC and loans were getting paid on time, but household expenses such as utilities were getting neglected. We were behind at least a running two months. Our over draft line of credit was tapped out and over the last few months that I was at the job we ended up paying out over $1000 in NSF fees. I have things, like out house and car payment that automatically come out of out account…rain or shine. When you factor in that I wasn’t getting paid those NSF fees add up quickly. Also, because of the negative cash flow we had to live off out credit cards.

I finally found a new job and started 3/14. I actually do get paid every other Friday now and DH gets paid opposite Fridays. Works out fantastically because now we get paid every week.

Sooo….as of tomorrow I should be caught up on everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so excited, because now I can start working on my debt reduction. I purchased MS Money, which I LOVE and I feel like it is helping me to take control. Our checking account has been in the black for almost an entire month now and we are even having money left over, $2.22 to be exact before this paycheck ;)….I don’t care the amount this time I am just happy that I haven’t paid a damn NSF fee since 3/17.

My plan is, if we live very frugally (we have been living like paupers anyway) and devote all money we can to debt, we can be unsecured debt free in less than 18 months (We owe about 15k in CC and other loans….I do not include the mortgages 1st or 2nd or car loans into this). All credit cards are getting cut up, with the exception of one card what only has a $300 limit left out for just in case things such as renting a car.

I feel so positive about the whole deal and this board, though I mostly lurk, has helped me so much!!!!! Thanks guys :)

Years ago the part time job I worked during college was for a medical supply company. For some reason, the owner of this company tried to sue Medicare over some "off-color" remarks that were made indirectly to him during some type of meeting. Well, Medicare was responsible for over 89% of all of our claims - and here is our owner trying to sue them. He would have us regularly picketing outside the local medicare office at least once a week. Anyway - there were weeks we did not get paid since medicare started denying all of our claims. I quit shortly after my first missed paycheck.

It's great that you are finally seeing some relief - Hang in there!
