I had a good day yesterday shopping and going out for a fancy dress-up dinner, but spent too much money...oh, I knew it was going to happen, but I am satisfied with what I bought. I did charge a bit, too,(Cousin Bernadette came along I must admit!) but I used a debit card for half of what I bought....The bills are covered for this paycheck, and I did save some off the top as well, so I'm not going to be upset with myself. I will be conserving my cash this week and snowflaking...... I have a lot of social events with dollar signs attached coming up so I know I have to stay on track with my spending. I'm going to work on a budget for each of the events.
One of the interesting things that happened during the event yesterday was that the price of gasoline came up....plans were changed for the meeting place because we decided to meet at a halfway point to carpool to our venue rather than everyone driving all the way to the venue in separate cars. Has the cost of gas been affecting any of your get-together plans yet? I was surprised this came up with this group, but, of course, it made sense, and I was glad we carpooled because the conversation and the laughter was so enjoyable on the way! Basically, I think everyone saved about $5 in gas money by carpooling, and that's nothing to sneeze at! (It's a snowflake!)
Today I have tons of chores to do, and I need to go to the gym to work off the wonderful dinner I had last night. I also have a lot of food in the house, but I need bread and honey for tea, so that will be all the spending necessary for today. I have started bringing my breakfast to work, and that has proved to be a great idea so far.
One of the stops for shopping yesterday was a book store, and I found myself peeking at some financial self-help books...got a few ideas from them...food for thought.
Another day in debt, but okay. Littlesbigs
