I am proud of myself...I went on a shopping trip yesterday and managed to keep the spending low and hit the bargains with great success. I did charge one thing for myself because I couldn't find my debit card, but I do have the cash and will send a payment to cover it today. (Debit card was on the floor of the car...fell out of my purse...whew!) I have to treat the relatives I went with (family thing...has to be done every so often, but I can see that I won't have to do it much longer, so I am relieved!!!) , but I decided to give them cash to spend, and when it was gone, it was gone, and I didn't have to give/charge anymore for them.
My finances will be strained this week and all next month. I have several events I have to spend on that are not cheap, and I have some big bills due that I can't pay in lower installments, but I'm not going to be discouraged. I can see that barring any unexpected large expenses in the near future (let's hope the car holds out! Seems when I get done paying for the last repairs I suddenly need new, expensive repairs again!!), I will be doing much better by the autumn. I just need to continue to keep working at this. Snowflake, snowflake, snowflake.......I'll get there.
Today I get to do FREE SHOPPING!!!!! I got $5.50 in coupons for free merchantdise at a local store, and I am going to enjoy deciding what to get for free. I can't decide if I want a big bottle of shampoo, 3 tubes of toothpase, or maybe a little makeup....I will ENJOY myself!!!!
I have chores to do and things to read........a full day ahead to enjoy and challenge me!
Another day in debt I will live through...and I do mean LIVE! Littlesbigs

Way to go Littles!
I have some events that I want to spend on too - my nephew is being born in May, I have a new house and no sofa, we just got a bedroom set for the guest bedroom (that I'll be using for the 50 weeks of the year we don't have company). We asked the Sellers to tear out the carpeting and had laminate put in. These were all wants, not needs, and I juggled some money around, taking out a 0% loan from my MBNA card which I can now pay back because I got my severance pay, we got 0% financing until December for the flooring, which we'll pay off when we sell our house up north. I'd like to charge the sofa and pay it off when we sell the house up north, but DH won't hear of it. He feels indebted and impoverished enough as it is. He's in charge of having propane installed (at $420) so I can use my gas dryer, and until then I'm using a clothesline, or going to the laundrymat when it's rainy. I've stopped buying outfits for my nephew-to-be, and have started looking at the yarn stash I have, and the pattern books for baby layettes instead.
DH bought a tractor to mow our yard, but we could have used the push mower (it's a little over an acre). Instead of buying a Swiffer wet-jet, I'm using my regular swiffer head with the wet pads to mop. When rooms aren't too dirty, I flip the clothes over and use them twice.
I'm still busy unpacking at home, and would much rather be there right now, than here at work with nothing to to. But, I'm staying off ebay, and not doing any online shopping. I'll file my nails now.
Have a great day, have fun with your $5.50!

Hi, Lee Ann!
I had FUN on that shopping trip!!! I used more coupons, and when I was all set, I ended up with free toothpastes, hairspray, shampoo, and toothbrush. I hit the store on a good day because all my coupons and their sales just worked together! I had so much FUN finding the bargains and knowing that I was getting things I needed.
