so angry at the bank...

I just got off the phone with wells fargo and I am so angry with them at the moment. Earlier this week I deposited my paycheck into my checking account. That night I had to buy a birthday gift/groceries etc. Well, the purchases did not hit my account until today and the deposit was posted on the next business day. I am angry b/c they did an overdraft transfer from my credit card b/c the deposit was 'pending' - even though the withdrawals were also 'pending' --- I called and spoke with two different people and both of them treated me like I am an irresponsible child - telling me to check my balance next time or "you should have cashed the check and used cash to pay for your purchases."
It frustrates me because I had finally gotten this cc paid off and was only keeping it because it has overdraft protection and now I have to make another payment on it. Plus it really makes me angry that they were so rude to me on the telephone. Are other banks like this?
Thanks for listening!
Susan

Hi Susan,
Unfortunately, when you bank with the "biggies," you are just an account to them - a fee generating machine, if you will.
All my best,

The people at Compass are jerks also...very condescending if you ever have a problem.
It really rips me how these people are so, "we're all about service" to get you to open an account, then later, all you are is a revenue producing source zinging you with every possible fee they can.
It seems to me that they structure their debit account processing procedures in order to force as many overdraws as possible - $35 at my bank! (I've worked in banks, I know for a fact it doesn't cost the bank but a little extra to process OD checks, it's all done electronically--no human being ever looks at it.) For example, posting debits (checks) before credits (deposits), posting the largest debit first in order to get the most OD's, rediculous hold times on some deposits. Processing 10 od checks costs the bank no more than processing 1, yet all get hit with the fee.
Case of the poor getting poorer.
Yeah - USBank has the same ridiculous practice of stacking the debits first from largest to smallest, etc.
I recently racked up close to $300 in overdraft fees.
All my best,
Danni
