Pardon my rant--some of which is not debt related, but frankly when one thing starts to feel out of control everything else gets blown out of proportion.

HUGS!!! I hear you with the things piling up! I'm dealing with that, too, right now, not easy at all. Take deep breaths, put a cool compress on your forehead....pick the most important thing to do first for later when you feel better.

Hugs again! Littlesbigs

Yikes! That is a load on your mind, and your wallet.

I make my own laundry detergent, it's really cheap and easy, and lasts a long time:

1 bar Fels Naptha soap
2 cups Borax
2 cups Arm & Hammer Washing soda (not baking soda, ha ha!)

Grate the bar of soap, takes about 10 minutes, and is very therapeutic. Mix all ingredients together. Use one heaping tablespoon per load - that's it. There are no fillers, so you don't have to use half a cup. It's low sudsing, so it's good for front load washers, and safe for septic tanks. There's no plastic jug to recycle afterward, or leave drippies all over the place. It smells fresh and clean without gunk in it. I would even use it on baby diapers, it's so gentle.

Have you looked at www.flylady.net? She'll help you conquer Mount Washmore!

I know about those home projects adding up. I don't know how to help you out there, except maybe to make a schedule for them that coincides with your budget. Knowing *when* something can be purchased/done is helpful in warding off that "I want it done NOW" syndrome. For outdoor projects, I just went to a plant exchange, and got a beautiful hosta and some tomatoe plants for free!

Speaking of free, have you looked into www.freecycle.com? Maybe some of those home projects can be taken care of with other people's stuff that they don't need anymore. It's not charity, it's recycling.

Sounds like a Kraft macaroni & cheese and hot dogs dinner for you tonight! Let's see, other really cheap meals: American chop suey (elbow pasta, pound of hamburg, can of diced tomatoes), beef stew in the crockpot (pound of stew beef, bag of carrots, couple of potatoes, can of peas), Chicken in the crockpot (recipe on flylady.com), mashed potatoes, can of green beans, omelettes for dinner. That will bring you through to Sunday anyway. Good luck!
