A small victory!!!

I think just about everyone on this board knows that my life right now revolves around helping my youngestt dd overcome the obstacle of autism. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I found that someone I know knows a BIG name in the field, and that she might be able to get us in to see her. Well, sure enough, I found out Tuesday evening that we were in for YESTERDAY!!!, since she had a cancellation. So yep, I pretty much wiped out my savings account again ($76 remaining), but it is SO AWESOME to be able to have a savings account to wipe out. My dh also jsut started contributin 5% to his 401K (which the company will match every penny) So i am feeling pretty good!!! Snowflakes will be smaller for the next couple of weeks..I want to rebuild our savings account, since only good things have come to us since we started saving. You guys inspire me!!!! It isn't so hopeless after all!! Heather

I'm so proud of you!! You had the money set aside, you were able to leap on an opportunity when it arose, and your family is reaping the rewards! Go you! Doesn't it feel great to be able to give your family the things that matter the most?
I am a big proponent of putting money in savings in addition to paying down debt. A lot of people recommend paying down debt first, but there are some things you just need to have cash on hand for. And it builds a good habit, especially once you experience the marvelous feeling of having money in hand for a major expense.
Go, you! I hope the new specialist works miracles for your daughter.
Blessings,
Heather
