I am going to clean again tonight.....It looks like I didn't make a dent in here yesterday, but I do have 2 large bags of stuff to throw out tonight...and I have a renewed enthusiasm for the task. It comes from the realization that I really have not been inteacting with a lot of the stuff I have been keeping (and keeping in a messy way)..and now I am looking to just get rid of it and get my space back. I am also learning more about myself and my debt. I am looking at what I have spent money on and wondering whay I did at the time. Like I "donated" several yards of fabric last night that I guess looked great 10 years ago, but now I have changed and my tastes have changed, snd so I have no room for it anymore. I should have created with it back then, but now....someone else can enjoy it...I get all that space back! All this stuff is all about me......I am learning as I clean.
All this cleaning definitely puts the breaks on my yearn to spend/charge. I see what I had to have and haven't even looked at...some stuff is still in the bags from the stores. I needed some stockings and found them in a bag in a bag in a bag last night...something I bought last year and then immediately lost in the house...
I am still enjoying my walks to snowflake to a credit card during lunch hours! In fact, I get BUMMED OUT if I have to go to a meeting at lunch and can't go. I set up an automatic bill pay for those "emergencies!" I'd rather be watching that balance go lower than spend spend spend right now. Much more satisfying. I did stop in a couple stores this weekend, bought one thing, but everytime I saw something I would have just bought in the past without a lot of thought, I think I'd rather snowflake the amount! My snowflaking is becoming addictive.
Oh, it's a slow and painful process, but I am getting a grip on my debt and myself....
Littlesbigs

Littlesbigs, I always look forward to your posts and insights. I am not much of a clutterer or collector instead I like to throw stuff away. We have lived in our home for over 10 years and we still have some empty cupboards and drawers in our kitchen, empty walls etc in just seems cleaner to me. I am the type that feels I have to cleanout cupboards, drawers & closets if they are full, so I like them to be neat and orderly and bare! I guess I'm kinda compulsive in a different way, because I want our home to feel like a home and I'm not sure the way I like things is very homey, KWIM?
Oh, well I've blabbed on long enough. Just wanted you to know I enjoy your posts and your snowflaking walks/reports.
Have a good night.

Any dent made in the mound of stuff is well worth counting!
Must be just that time of year for me too. Now that I'm done with school (for the summer, anyhow), I'm looking around at all the STUFF that has managed to pile up since last August. Where does it come from??
I agree that it's interesting to see what we used to be, as reflected in our unused purchases. Sometimes I have to wonder if I bought the item because I aspired to be the 'kind of person' who would use it? I dunno. Or was it just 'such a deal' that I couldn't pass it up?
here's to free space-may it be that good things come in to fill the open space! (Not just material things, either!)
~Keep tossing, I'm right with you!

Dear friends,
THANK YOU for your support!!!
I am in the middle of a pile of clothes...trying to sift thru them, but not having much luck figuring out what to do with the ones I want to keep...tossing anything really old or just not who I am now. Also will be buying new socks because I just can't believe how old the ones I have really are! (Long story, but I bought most of them at a sale in 1997! They really need to go!)
I keep finding charge card receipts in allthe boxes and bags I look in! Just awful! I keep feeding them to the shredder....if the shredder was a pet, it'd be really happy right now...with a full belly!
Well, the more clothes I find, the more I know I don't have to buy that much for work to get thru the summer. I threw out my 7 year old bathing suit last night....the elastics got old, so out it went....the trick is to get a suit by the weekend for CASH!!!! Any old one may do....my SO doesn't really care how I look in one which is a relief! LOL!
Back to digging!!!! Littlesbigs
