Hey All - this is sort of a "check-in" - but it's been a while since I've been able to post regularly.

All my best,

So good to have you back and happy that you had such a wonderful time with you sis, family is a high priority for me. Also sounds like things are going well with your refi, good for you for making that change and rolling it into one payment and I see a lot of snowflakes coming with that extra $500/month! Very exciting! I know what you mean about wanting things and the chairs do sound wonderful, oh and I love the eggplant color! Hard to resist I'm sure! Good luck on that one, I don't know if I could! I am going to be planting some flower boxes for my deck this weekend and I am going to try not to go overboard, but oh how I love the color out on the deck, sure brightens things up! We'll see how that goes! Anyway, so good to have you back, I'm sure I am not the only one who missed you.

deciding to be happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but that you had decided to look beyond the imp

Congratulations on your refi! And thanks for that very timely reminder about the slippery slope. We are about to buy the house we've been living in, and there are so many things I want to buy and fix up - but I know the FIRST thing I need to do is work out a budget that shows the increased expenses for owning the house and my increased income from the promotion I got this week - and THEN make a plan, with DH, about what to do and when. I was just beginning to realize that I need to do that this week, and now when I think about the new family room couches, and the lilac bushes, and the siding, and the carpet, and all the other things, I'm going to think of "Danni's purple rocking chairs" and really THINK!

I know what you mean about wanting to buy things. The rocking chairs sound lovely. I have been tempting to just buy stuff for our new house. (I haven't),

The decision is up to you. However, if you have the cash for it...go for it.

I understand!!! I bought the same rocking chairs a few weeks ago. Mine are white. They are nice for the money but we really like the wooden porch swing better. The rockers are a little cheaply made if you know what I mean, they are definately not the Cracker Barrelrockers. I am sure you can buy the plans at home Depotfor the swing and you and your husband could build rather cheaply.

I know this is not always the fun thing to do for some people, but try yard sales and flea markets for the rockers. My parents just found a heavy oak set, along with a matching wicker type table for ten dollars!! just two cans of spray paint, and tada!!! beautiful!!! If that doesn't work unfinished furniture places are great!
