Annoying people on boards, not this one!

Ok, so I go on another bulletin board about debt (www.suzeorman.com). It's annoying to me that people post there because they are in debt and need suggestions, but anytime you give a suggestion they get defensive and give a million reasons why it won't work. I posted a reply to a 23 year old woman who has a low salary and student debts. She was basically whining because her parents won't pay off her debts for her and give her money to live. She also said she needed her daily Starbucks and "occassional shopping trips" to stay sane.
So I suggested she either ask for a raise, work part time, or sell things on ebay. And of course she shot back with a rude response about how in her industry you can get fired for asking for a raise, and that she has no time for part time work.
Why bother asking for suggestions if you refuse to change your lifestyle?
A bunch of other people also responding and said I was being unreasonable because I said she is 23 and her parents do not have to bail her out at this point.
Is that unreasonable? I'm sure I'm not the only one who paid my own way through college and paid my own rent and bills at age 23 (and still do at age 28!)
Sorry, just had to vent. It's so aggravating! But I love this board! :)

I haven't been to other boards on this topic, but I totally know what you're saying.
Cheryl,
I don't think you were unreasonable. You gave her a good suggestion.
At 23, I was working full-time, college part-time (at night). I was paying my own rent, bills, car insurance, clothing, etc.
That poster sounds like a spoiled brat. Obviously, she just wanted to whine.
