Happy Father's Day to everyone!!!
I just thought I'd tell a weird Father's Day story: I have a friend who married a guy obsessed with money. I won't go into the details, but they are wealthy but not happy. Ever since they had children she has wanted to celebrate Father's Day for him...nothing crazy, just wants to take him out and buy him little gifts and cards.....but he gets MAD at her for spending any money for the holiday at all. He keeps telling her that the best gift she could give him is to spend nothing. She really doesn't understand this, so the conflict goes on (and sometimes I'm surprised that the marriage does, too!).
I am going out and about today...I have a bit of the wanderlust so will be taking a drive around, enjoy the weather...I have been basically confined to a small portion of my county since I started my new job. I know I shouldn't be "spending" the gas, but I need a change in scenery so bad!!!! I am pretty broke now and may have to extract a bit from emergency savings to get to the next payday, but the extra money I spent this week was worth it to me. (Keep reminding myself the bills are paid, the bills are paid.)
SO and I went out last night to dinner with another couple. I forgot to get money out of the ATM, so we went across the street to the ATM before we got to the restaurant....it was SO NICE to plunk down CASH when the bill came. The other couple took our cash and pulled out a credit card (which was fine with me).........but I was SO GLAD to know that meal was not on MY CREDIT CARD!!!!!
I have a lot of coins I am going to count and use for snowflakes this week. I will be laying low with spending until the next paycheck, but the swimming pool, crafts, work, cleaning and TV will keep me occupied I AM SURE until the next check in 2 weeks. And I still enjoying looking at my new purse. (I am wearing sunscreen all summer, so my vinyl bag is fine to wear until the fall....I once ruined a suede purse with sunscreen! UGH!!!!)
Have a happy day! Littlesbigs
