Weekend expenses, a lot or a little???

I am just wondering what you all my be expecting for the weekend and your forecasted expenses? I am hoping for a pretty frugal weekend. I have $53 left in my checking account until next Friday's payday and am hoping that nothing comes up that will cause me to have to pull money from savings. I know tonight I won't be spending any money, we are going to a BBQ for my nephew and I already bought the food we are bringing, tomorrow is a family reunion, same thing, already bought the food. I don't know what Sunday will hold and that makes me a little uneasy. I'm hoping the weather will be nice and we can just do something outside without having to go to a movie or something that I know DBF will want to go do. He really wants to see Batman Begins, I don't care one way or the other. So, just wondering what you all might be doing to not spend any money. I know if I make it through the weekend with that money still in my checking account the rest of the week will be a breeze! Hope everyone has an enjoyable, inexpensive weekend!

Well - we have to start picking up supplies for the retaining wall that we will be building.

All my best,

We have cheap weekends every week. We are "mad" about debt as Dave would say, so we are only spending for things we need.

I find its easy to not fall back on savings if you just pretend you don't have it. So now its your challenge to live on that $53 until next payday.

Post back to let us know how you did!

We have cheap weekends every weekend, too. I think it may be easier when you're married (no expectation of "date night" lol). If we do spend money, it comes out of our personal spending "allowances" that we get at the beginning of each month, $50 each (and that's a recent change--we used to get $10 a month, and before that, nada, in the early stages of our debt repayment).

We eat in, we go to parks and the library, go hiking or bike riding. Sometimes there are free events--Sunday there's a festival in the park to celebrate Summer Solstice.

I *do* go yard saling every Saturday morning. But, again, it comes out of my spending allowance, and it serves the purpose of scratching my shopping itch, so I'm not tempted to shop the rest of the week. Cheap fix--considering that I can come home with a pretty good assortment of fun things for about $5. But even that we didn't do when we were really, really struggling.

Anyway, those are some of the things we do. Check in again and let us know how it went. You'll be so proud if you can make it through till Monday!

This weekend my dd is with her dad, so it will be a very inexpensive weekend (I hope). I will have to go buy a few groceries for breakfast and lunches this week, and maybe cereal and milk (my main dinner when dd is not here). I may take a trip to the library and hopefully I'll make it to the gym once or twice (no additional expense and I have a pretty inexpensive gym membership).

As long as I don't go anywhere near a mall or Walmart, I'll be fine.

Well...today was payday for my husband. All four of us went out to eat at an all-u-can-eat buffet place. We love that place. We get to eat sushi. Anyway, we already spent $42.

Tomorrow we take our little Yorkie to the Vet. Follow-up from the cold she got. Also, if she's alright, she'll get her final shots for now. Afterwards, we're going to the "ungrateful best friend's" barbeque/birthday thing. My husband told me to get him a wallet. The friend is lucky the 99 cent store doesn't have mens' wallets. LOL!!! Went to Rite-Aid found a nice leather wallet for $12.99. My husband told me that he took him out for lunch today. Spent $22 on lunch.

Gosh!!!!!weekend just starting and it's been expensive.

Don't know what's up for Sunday.

A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekends have suddenly become very expensive. I think I am going to be able to avoid spending, but something has been coming up every weekend since May....I thought this weekend would be a respite from spending, but it is not. It means I REALLY have to push push push harder to NOT spend. I MEAN really hard. GEEZ................. This going to be a rough summer.

A little. We went grocery shopping earlier today Left a little to pick up some things tomorrow that go on sale then. Gotta get that Hellman's mayo when it's on sale!!

Next week, hubby needs the oil changed on the truck and we send out cccs payt #2 of 60. I sold a DVD set on half.com that's been sitting around since we got it, unopened. When I get the money for that, I'm going to put $9.00 in the emergency fund, and send $3 to each of three medical bills. I know it's not much in that emergency fund, but if it's not put there, then it can't be there when I need it. And that's part of how we got in this mess to begin with.

I'm messing around inside in the AC today, and I'm going to see if I can post up a couple of books on half.com Maybe I can clear things up here a bit and make a few bucks to snowflake with. I know I have a ton of sh... ah, stuff here that's for sure.

Cooking light this week, hotter that blazes here in New England.

Well, it was a great weekend! I ended up spending a $1.00 on 18 eggs on Saturday, I forgot eggs for the brownies I had to make for the family reunion, but what a deal on eggs! Sunday we went to the movie, Batman Begins, BTW, it was awesome. DBF paid for that and I bought us a soda to share and I had a coupon for a free popcorn! Then we had to get bread for dinner at my mom's house last night. Total spent: $13.24! Yeah!

Hope everyone else had a great frugal weekend too! Thanks for all your responses too, it's great to hear how everyone else is doing too!
