How low do you go???

What is the most seemingly disgusting meal/snack you've ever eaten due to lack of funds or just because you're having a movie night at the Gilmore Girls' house?? (For those who don't watch, mother and daughter get together so many different and sometimes disgusting combinations of foods to eat while having a movie-thon. Picture feet long twizzlers, twinkies, and chinese take-out.)
Anyway, what's the nastiest food you'll admit to loving whether you're struggling and there's not much left in the pantry or fridge or just because your tastebuds are tickled by it like a hormone-challenged pregnant woman?
Confess! Confess!

One of my most favorite things to eat of all time, regardless of whether there is food in the fridge or not, is peanut butter and pickle sandwiches! Yumm! Don't knock it till you've tried it! :)

deciding to be happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, but that you had decided to look beyond the imp
Pickled garlic! It is the yummiest stuff ever! We searched long and hard for a local supply of the stuff, and the farmer's market just started carrying it--we are SO excited!
Another thing I discovered after I got my first juicer, is that raw garlic tastes great juiced along with apples--adds a spicy kick that is quite pleasant. And it kicks butt as a cure for colds and flus, not to mention preventative. It also keeps mosquitos away but, unfortunately, the price is that it keeps people away too! LOL
Let's see.. banana sandwiches with mayo instead of pb (dh introduced me to it, and it sounded gross but is actually yummy).
On the other end of things, I once spent quite a lot of money and most of a day cooking an saffron eggplant casserole that turned out to be as nasty as it sounds. LOL
Great question!
Due to lack of funds it was day after day of sliced bread, with mustard for a spread, and pasta with grated cheese.
Due to liking, whether anyone else likes it or not, 'tis raw cabbacge stalks - or whatever they are called. The thick part that's not the leaves of a cabbage - tastes wonderful. a bit like raddish :-)

These are so much fun....ok I'm feeling the PB thing...I eat PB with almost everything...the pickles, I'm not so sure about. Maybe the next time I get a PMS attack, I'll try it. LOL
Here are a few of my strange tastes:
salty french fries and chocolate milkshake - dip fries in shake!
ketchup on mashed potatoes
pickle and cheese sandwich
mayonnaise sandwich
mayonnaise and ruffle potato chip sandwich
PB, banana, and mayo sandwich
This is why I don't run from carbs, I embrace them...bread is so versatile!
tabasco on popcorn
mac and cheese mixed with bbq sauce
Back in my really broke days, I would eat rice with butter, cheese, or soy sauce.
My all-time favorite disgusting treat as a kid......
PEANUT BUTTER AND BACON BITS ON WHOLE WHEAT SUB!!!
=D

When I was in college as a very young freshman (15 or 16 at the time), I needed all my spare money to pay for tuition and cab rides to and from school. This usually didn't leave me with much lunch money for the week, so if I was really low on cash (not even enough for a vending machine), I'd literally make my lunch from the conmdiment bar at the cafeteria. Sometimes they'd have crackers for the soup which I made all sorts of interesting sandwiches with (jelly and cream cheese was the best, but mustard ketchup and relish wasn't bad either). They had lemons for tea, I love lemons so sometimes I'd just grab a few slices and eat them. I'd occasionally drink some of the half and half in the little containers for coffee, but only if they were cold...warm half and half is yucky....honey packets made good snacks for when I was in class and craving sugar...
glad to say I have much better eating habits now....but I will agree about the PB thing....anything can taste better with PB on it....
