It is July 1st! The year is half over...How is everyone doing with their debt reduction efforts????? Have you made much progress? Have you had a bumpy road, or have things worked out better than you thought they would? Are you not doing well at all? Have you been learning new behaviors or learning to live with less? Are you better at evaluating your needs vs. wants? Are you taking things one day at a time or do you feel overwhelmed? Can you believe the year is half over already? Is there anything you will do differently this 2nd half of the year? What was the debt highlight or lowlight of the 1st half of the year for you?

Best of luck with our 2nd half of 2005!!!!

I haven't been tracking my debt as closely as I should have the first half of the year. However, I was pleasantly surprised by our savings and snowflakes so far this year.

Our debt highlight and lowlight were the same: DH and I filed bankruptcy in January. Even though it eliminated some of our debt, it could not eliminate all of it. We have paid off an additional $2800 since January and started an Emergency Fund and have saved almost $1000. We are taking things one day at a time. One area we are concentrating on is reducing our "impulsive" spending. We try to stay out of Wal-Mart and Home Depot as much as possible. We will start tracking our "installment" debt starting in 2006. I didn't want to feel overwhelmed by having our slate wiped clean and then having a HUGE number staring back at me right away. We are still praying we will win the Lottery and take care of every thing. Until then, we are plugging along day to day.
