I have been bad

Hi, everyone. Well, remember the vacation? It is fast approaching. I tried to use my bank/debit card as much as I could, but ended up charging some items on the pesky cc. Have absolutely no clothes to wear. Nothing fits. So, I went to some websites and stocked up on sale items, shorts, t-shirts, short PJ's. Had to pay for the pet sitter, too. I did one snowflake to the car payment, but am not counting that. I did stay away from all dept stores, so that is a saving grace. Well, at least on vac, I hope not to spend too much. Whiz.

I've been bad, too! I woke up and found I am putting myself behind again. I'm really upset with myself, so I am trying to get a grip today and STOP the bad behavior. I think I started messing up again when I stopped tracking my spending, so I will begin again in August and stay away from any building related to retail until I can control myself. UGH! So frustrating! BUT, we will hang in there...we can do this! Littlesbigs

Thank god clothing is not a weakness for me. All I wear is jeans/shirts in the fall & winter, and shorts/shirts in the spring/summer. I go to Kohls at the end of the season and stock up in $5 Lee/Levi shorts for next year, and same for fall/winter shirts. Long jeans you can never really get them on clearance but I just get them on sale. Even this year when I went to Mexico, I spent $80 got myself 4 shirts, a purse,2 skorts, and tennis shoes.

I've found I can get myself clothes I like just as much as new (sometimes better) at thrift stores. Plus I can get a ton of stuff for nothing and I still get the same satisfaction of having new (to me) things. I haven't bought myself anything new (with the exception of a new dress for dd's baptism and the bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding) in a long time. It's a good feeling to be able to actually afford anything in the store, and the days of spending even $30 on a shirt or jeans are over for me. As a matter of fact I just went to goodwill the other day and got a pair of jeans from express that look brand new and i really like and a leather belt from gap both for $6.

We don't do used clothes unless they are from a close friend or family member. And really I can do just as well at hechts & kohls when they have clearance on sale. $2 for bathing suits, $1.99 for shirts. You just have to know how to shop clearance.

I know what you are saying, I have been to the clearance sales but for kohls i can never find anything i like, i don't buy used clothes really for my dc, i am a clearance women too.... i have all of dd's clothes for next year, from children's place, adorable outfits that i paid only 99 cents per item. I have a GORGEOUS dress for her for my sister's wedding , i paid 4 dollars for it at children's place, I do a little of everything to save money for clothes and i have gotten pretty good at it. I just shop a season ahead for my kids, it's easier to find selection for my younger child though. Although i have gottenthem a few things at garage sales, if you just wash them really well and hang them on the line to dry the sun will make them perfectly clean.

Hi, everyone. Thanks for the tips. Havent been to Kohl's. Am trying to lose some weight, and am in 16W!! I mean, are they going to let me board the plane? I hear there are new wt limits (LOL). Any ideas, ladies, on where to buy "good" tennis shoes/walking shoes? I absolutely refuse to spend $90 for tennis shoes. Will take suggestions and look at clearance items--T-shirts I need badly. Thanks. WHiz.

Payless is alot better than it used to be, they actually had some cute shoes last time i was there and they carry champion brand now and they were comfortable and inexpensive. I would try there. Also if you have triple AAA they do a discount for their shoes.

Shannon: Hi! Any ideas on where to find women's clothing at discount? I am trying to diet and have about 25 lbs to go. Need to find some T-shirts and capri pants for hot weather, and a dress for upcoming wedding. I wear 16W and large tops. Thanks. WHiz.
