Hi everyone i had a question about credit reports my student loans have reported it on my credit report when i sent in forms to make them be deffered but they say they didnt get them in time after i mail, fax, and send it over the internet. I got all three of my reports and tried to write in and appeal them but they didnt take them off. Is there anything else I can do and how long do these stay on I have had good credit all my life and this is messing up my credit badley.

If you did pay the loan late, it can stay on your credit bureau. You might have better luck calling up the student loan company and asking for a supervisor and explaining the situation. Ask them if they are willing to change the status of your account. That can work, but if they refuse then you are stuck with the delinquency on your report. You can write a letter and have it included with your credit reports, so anyone who checks your credit will see the reason why you were late on the payment. Also, as time passes and the delinquency gets to be 6 months, a year or two years old, it will have less and less of an affect on your score.
I have one 30 day delinquency on two of my reports that is a year old, and those scores are 722 and 741 (according to the mortgage broker that just pulled them a couple weeks ago). The other report has the one 30 day deliquency and 30-90 day delinquencies from my mortgage all throughout 2002 (thanks to my ex-h). That score is 670 or so.
