My "Duh" moment...

I've been using something as a big excuse not to snowflake - the fact that our cc has changed it so you can only make an online payment every 5 days. I know, stupid thought. But - my mind kept saying, "You have to figure out when you can pay these little snowflakes, and now you can't hop online and just pay $4 here and $8.52 there, you'll actually have to figure out when you can pay and it's just not worth it, so spend the money."

(Yes, I guess I think in run-on sentences...)

My "duh" moment?

1) We still get a paper reconciliation sheet from them every month...
2) They even provide us with a really nice (cough) envelope already...
3) We pay most of our bills online, so we have four boxes of checks that are paid for and our credit union does not charge us for the number of checks we write in a month...

...

So - why not write out stupid paper checks when we have that extra $4 here and $8.52 there, tuck them away until the paper reconciliation sheets come, then send them all to the cc by snail mail? (Only one stamp that way, too)

Yeah, I'm afraid that took months to figure out.

No more excuses! I think that's my new motto.

Hi! One of my credit cards recently won't allow me to make more than one payment every 5 days if I use THEIR website to pay it....so I went to my bank's website and added this credit card as a bill to be paid from the bank TO the credit card because they don't limit the timings of my payments. Therefore, I still do not have to write checks myself....the bank will send them a check thru the online bill pay or electronically. Save your stamps. Give this a shot. You'll like it. The result IS THE SAME!!!!!

SNOWFLAKES!!!!!!! (where are mine???)

Ahhh...see there are *always* ways to out play the credit card companies with their restrictions for paying them back early!

there you go! Thinking outside of the box is what snowflaking is all about, LOL!

I think all of our credit cards have the same deal-limit 4 online pays in one billing cycle. So, what I do is set the date to a couple of weeks out, and everytime I get a snowflake, I go in and change the payment amount, adding the new flake. For the one that I can't figure out how to set the date, I just write them all on a piece of paper, and then go send it every couple of weeks. More work, yes, but the results are so worth it!

Congratulations for figuring out a way to flake!

Ah! That's so cool! (Using bank website to pay the cc)

I'll have to check that out - another "duh" moment! I never even thought of that.

I wonder if my bank charges for that...?

Another thing to find out...

Thanks, littlesbigs!
