DH's company is in trouble....

Hi, everyone! Well, just before we go on vac, DH drops the news that his company is in trouble. His boss is getting laid off, and there are two more essential people getting laid off. It makes me wonder where the company is going. Selling? Merger? Who knows. For the time being, DH job is "safe", but it means the work will be quadrupled. So, when we get back, he says he plans to look for something else. On a positive front, I got my allergy meds from the doc for free---free samples. Saved me $150/month for 6 months! Is that a snowflake? Thanks again to each one of you (shannon,et al) for the savvy shopping tips. Am going to Kohl's and Target today. My mother suggested I wear the pants I want to match shirts for when I shop, so that way, I wont be tempted to buy stuff I dont need. So far, I have not dipped into the credit union account. Oh, yes there have been many temptations, but now, I have $700 in it! Has anyone else gone through layoffs (again!)? What did you do? Thanks. Whiz.

Hey, that's great about your meds!! Definitely a snowflake! I had heard of people doing this, but you usually have to ask. Most doctors have tons of samples sitting around.

I'm sorry to hear about the uncertainty regarding your dh's work situation. That's got to be nerve racking. I'll be sending good thoughts your way for a positive resolution.

Blessings,

Defintely sounds like a flake to me!

Said with a mock scolding tone, "With your DH's job situation being sort of up in the air, leave that $700 alone, unless you're adding to it!!!!"

Have a great vacation!

Yes, the last two times I was laid off, I was thrilled!

Back in Massachusetts, I had worked for 20 years, so when I finally had to draw on unemployment, I was getting as much as I had been earning in salary!
