I cut up my debit card about 6 months ago and I loved it. The only roblem was it seemed like I was at the bank alot. I am still learning to make sure I have enough money for everything without running out all the time.
But we moved to a new town and the closest bank is 20 minutes away. I got new ones when we moved becuase I was still setting up the different accounts, learning where everything was.
Now I want to cut them up again but i am scared. I dont have banks open on the weekends here(very limited on Saturday) plus DH is a dolt when it comes to saving money. I think he is the problem so I am hoping if I dont have the card then it will cut down alot.
I really like working with Cash too. so I guess I just want to know if anyone else has done it succesfully

No I couldn't~~ I deposit my tips into savings at the ATM at night after work. It saves me a trip the next day and I am not tempted to spend that money because it's "gone"!!
I agree on the gas station/ car seat issue~~ what a pain!!!

HI
We don't have debit cards. Our credit union makes you apply for a $500 line of credit to get a debit card. No thank-you. It would be nice to have because there are lots of places that have stopped taking checks.

I haven't had a debit card since before we were married (coming up on 12 years). Our bank has started offering them in the past year, but I think that using cash and checks works pretty well for us. I'd like to get another, though, because some places don't take personal checks but do take debit cards.
the downside is that I'm not so sure my DH would do well with one...
So, yes, it can be done. I like using cash, because once it's goen, then it's time to get creative, LOL!

*edited to say what it was DH wouldn't do, lol

We are moving south in a few years. Honestly, I'm here because WI has the best therapy in the country for my daughter, at least it did when we moved here. We are planning on being debt free or close to it in 3-4 years (depending on what life throws at us), so we will buy our first house then. We've made some hard choices over the years, but moving south, in the country no less, would be my dream at this point. Doesn't hurt to dream....Heather
