Hi, I am maily a lurker and occasional poster.
We just moved to a new area, the closest relatives are about 30 minutes away. thats my dad and step mom. Everyone else is over an hour away.
The cable company that is in the area has a special when we signed up, cable for the tv(stars and encore ncluded no extra), and the cable internet service for 74.00 a month. I thought this was kind of high but there is no DSL service out here. We decided to use Lingo for the phone since it was only25.00 a month and you can call anywhere. Everyone is long distance and with this I can call my Best Friend in Italy for free.
i 100.00 alot for Cable tv, modem and phone?
I am looking for ways to save money and im running out of ideas. DH wont go with out cable. We have the basic you can get, no extras. if we give up one of these three then we lose the others. I cant have the phone without the cable modem and if I cancel that then we are still going to lose the combo discount and the cheap phone. idont want to think what my phone bills would be without Lingo.
I guess my question goes back to is 100.00 alot for all three of those a month?

Is that a flat $100? If so, then its not so bad. Divide by teh three services, it is only $33 each (phone, DSL, & cable). My DSL is 29.95. Satelite is $45.00. Phone is $45 + 5 cents per minute long distance. (Its $60 for unlimited long distance, but we never use it.)
Good luck,
Sandra
yes. the phone is 25.00(24.?? with taxes and such) and the tv/computer is 74.?? so it works out to be 100.00
I didnt think about dividing it in three. That does make it sound better.
Yea, I agree..I know it sounds a lot when you say its $100...but it sounds about right.
I pay $44.95 for cable internet, and $32.85 for unlimited digital phone. So that's already $78. I dont have cable, but even with the all-in-one packages here, I dont think I could get basic for $22 or under. So I'd be over $100.
The only way I can think to save with that package is to mention, since you have unlimited phone with Lingo, to cut back cell plans (if you have them) to bare minimum. Enough for emergencies when not at home, or for when Lingo goes out, or to answer and say 'I'll call you back from my home phone. thanks"

We have a very basic cell plan. My mom works for sprint/nextel so our cell phones are only 20.00 each a month(we have 2) My mom even pays mine so its really only $20. We have oddles of minutes but are careful never to go over. I try to get rid of them becuase I dont use them alot but my mom insits I need one so she pays it
Thanks
