Well...i'm so bummed out and still pissed at my husband for the van. He picks it up today. He'll have to charge it because the money we have saved has to be used for the construction on the house.

Our debt looks as follows:

First usa (.99% till 12/05) Balance: $5,114.98
MBNA (0% till 2/06) Balance: $10,777.79
Citibank (12%) Balance: $6,441.13
Timeshare (13%) Balance: $3,831.99
Student Loan (mine-5.05%) Balance: $7,401.15
Student Loan (his-8.25%) Balance: $10,040.64
MBNA (22%) Balance: $2,500.00 (Added today for Van repair) I think I'll focus on paying this one off first.

TOTAL: $46,107.68

Just needed to post. Our debt has been going up instead of decreasing. Feeling very discouraged.

Thanks for reading.

Hi,
I know nothing about Pennsylvania but I bet that they do have an abatement program -- I'd see who your State representative is -- I don't know how your State's government is set up, but there must be someone who represents your area in the State government -- assembly or whatever. They usually have a local office -- and if they don't they should have a web page with a phone number. In our state (Calif) they have someone in the local office who will find out the answers for you. CHECK with them -- this sounds too good to pass up. Probably it is not well publicized by the school districts -- they would prefer you paid the assessment or tax.
Good luck!

Good idea paying off that MBNA one first, with such a high rate. I'm dealing with those jerks too, my rate is 20.99%. I can't get them to lower it, but if you have good credit, you might be able to. Call customer service and tell them you want that rate lowered, or you're taking your business elsewhere.
