My husband and his ideas about credit...

Omigosh--my husband and I sat down last night and had a conversation about moving, having more kids, and our credit problems. Besides the fact that we are on TOTALLY different pages when it comes to our lives (he wants to move before we have another child.. I don't--I don't know where he thinks all the money is sprouting from!) He thinks his repossesion will eventually "drop" off his credit! Yes, he owes about 7K on a reposession on a car that happened before we were married. He thinks it will just "drop" off his credit in 7 years.. he is absolutely crazy! I told him that will never go away, the only way it will is if the collections people stop reporting it for seven years... I am right on this, aren't I? He thinks I am wrong on this...

It angers me, because all this time, I am saving and paying bills, trying to get at least MY credit straight, so we can save and have a another child, while in a house that we can afford the mortgage and pay daycare. He is sitting there thinking he's not going to have to do anything because it will eventually drop off?!?!?! He is clueless when it comes to this. I bought the house we are in now on my own--single.. He doesn't know the first thing about credit. I reminded him of our debt, when he was pitching to me why we should move--and then said.. well the mortgage was always paid on time, we should have no trouble. Again,, is he NUTS!!! I told him that it depends on your credit score.. duh! I would love to move, but I think in 5 years we should be able to do it.. he thinks that's a riduculous amount of time.. I don't know about you guys.. but 4 or 5 years is short term goal for me. My husband seems to think it'a an eternity..How in the heck am I going to get through to him??!?!!? Sorry it was so long.. I just can't believe with the utter stupidity I am having to deal with....
