I just mentioned how I wasn't going to give up my iVillage subscription b/c my dialup was so slow, and then out of the blue...LOL. Our phone and cable provider started advertising unlimited High Speed (cable) interent for $14.95/m (free virus protection/firewall, modem, etc) for six months; after the six months it's $24.95/m. We were giving AOL $23.90 plus $4.85 for call alert. Now that our internet runs through the cable I don't need call alert, and my internet cost has basically been cut in half. With the high speed, I can deal without the iVillage subscription (although I miss my siggy and the convenience, LOL) and even after the intro price is over, I'm STILL saving money over AOL w/ Call Alert. For the next six months, I'm saving $20/mo. Might not sound like much, but when you're living in the hole any little bit helps! OH, we get a $50 Discover debit card (good anywhere Discover is accepted) for switching, too, so really I'm ahead $170 over six months!
