New job? Wish me luck...

I am a stay-at-home/homeschooling mom. Our money situation isn't "too bad" although we DO have a lot of debt. We are also in the process of infertility treatments which are obviously pricey.

DH and I came to the conclusion that I should go to work.

IF I can get a job where DH works I'd be bringing home approximately $3,000/month. That would get us ahead really quickly!!!

The job would only be temporary (6 months?).

Wish me luck GETTING the job, and then wish me luck that I can HANDLE the job! (LONG hours, and HARD work!!!) I will have to cut back on the homeschooling a bit, but my son is doing so well that I'm not worried about him. I am also in school (9 credit hours), so that makes it even harder......... But we are tired of living with so many bills for things from the PAST!!!

Good luck!

As a fellow stay-at-home, homeschooling mom, I'm curious where your son will go while you're at work?

At one point, I worked a night job at a bar so dh could be home with our son while I worked, and that worked quite well (although exhausting and draining and hard on our marriage since we never saw each other). I'm just wondering how you guys will handle the same issue.

It's great that you're looking for ways to get that debt down. It will pay off for your son's future.

Many blessings,

Heather

Heather,

My son will stay with his step-grandmother (my Mother-In-Law) during the day while we are at work. I will have a few hours with him in the evenings, and then weekends too...so I will continue homeschooling him. It just won't be quite as much as I do now. (He's doing kindergarten and first grade work right now.)

That's terrific that you have family for him to stay with! I forgot that some people have that luxury ;).

I hope you didn't feel like I was criticizing or judging you. I just was really curious, because I couldn't imagine what I would do in your shoes--I don't have family locally.

Good luck. I hope things work out great for you, and that you are able to handle the load.

Blessings,

Heather

Heather,
We are fortunate that MIL is willing to help out, especially with the crazy hours... but we have to pay her. (She won't do anything for anyone w/o monetary incentive....)

I'm actually keeping my fingers crossed that the job falls through.... I don't wanna work and I really don't want my MIL watching my son. :(
