Seeing the numbers

3 days ago I was setting up my pages for my budget for the time until the end of the year in a new notebook. I wrote down the expected expenses for the paycheck I got yesterday (I plan my budget by the paycheck), and my expenses exceeded my paycheck by $1.03. Not good.

Well, I can at least see on paper, written in black and white, that there is no wiggleroom this next 2 weeks. Gotta stick to the budget....and I think I CAN because I SEE IT............I've been doing this budgeting thing for a while now, but I remember back when I wasn't and getting all messed up. Now I just KNOW that I can't vary from the budget....I'm just hoping life does not get in the way and something come up to mess me up, but at least I know I should be able to control myself!

Last night, I really wanted something from the grocery store to eat because I didn't want to cook, but I have boxes of pasta and noodles at home and told myself all the way home from work to just GO HOME and not to stop anywhere else. The tight budget was on my mind. That worked. The noodles were fine, and I felt much better I was eating food I had already paid for.

I am trying not to charge anything which will be hard, but I will TRY. THINKING BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET..............STICK TO IT!!!!

Wish me luck!

Good for you! I know that must have been a struggle, but willpower won out and that's GREAT! Having my budget in front of me usually helps...it's all to easy from disconnect from it and the "What's $5" rule takes over. Great job! And good luck!
