How to save $$--work lunches, etc.

Hi, everyone. Read the posts on eating out and how sneaky and expensive it can be. I spend about $45-$60 in two weeks, eating out at work. Nothing fancy. Salad, soup, yogurt, etc. However, I have no idea what DH spends when he goes out. He does it to get "out of the office" type of thing, as they have no cafeteria. Sooo---Chinese buffet; ribs; KFC; Japanese food and sushi. Sodas! (not for me--DH). I know it has to be about $50/week he spends. I want to try eating (or taking) breakfast items now---carrots, hb eggs, yogurt, etc. Any ideas on saving on this appreciated. Do you just pack lunches, or just breakfasts? Most people I eat with get those Lean Cuisine things, but those can add up! I need ideas. Thanks. Whiz.

Hi whiz,
I have one that is right here on ivillage. Its called "10 great lunches for work or school". http://home.ivillage.com/cooking/rushhour/0,,8rp,00.html. if the link doesn't work, try a search on I village with the titele. Other than that why don't you do a google search on paper sack lunches or like I said earlier, take left-overs. I'm takeing chicken and spagetthi from yesterday today :). The wraps I make are made of flower tortillas. I make the flower tortillas myself, because in Germany the store bought ones don't taste good and are very expensive. I found a pretty neat recipe for ones that are made really quick. You take 1 flower tortilla, spread cream cheese on it, then I put spices on the cream cheese, a slice of ham, some shredded cheese and a salad mix (like shredded carrots, lettuce, cabbage). I don't know if you have mixes like that to buy but that is the easiest. You can try lettuce and tomatos too.
Okay 2 more links for lunches is allrecipes.com and fabulousfoods.com .
