So I come and I go. I have been to this board numerous amounts of times and got really good advice and help Thank you! But I just can't seem to get my head out of my arse (sorry)...I am a SAHM as well as a Childbirth Educator, Doula. and student Midwife...I have alos been looking for a PT job to squeeze in as well. I just want to pay off our debt and get out of the trouble I got us into. We have HORRIBLE Credit and outstanding monies out plus we owe everyone (even personal loans) as well as new bills coming in...I just can't keep up. I have a spending plan but how does one do it if we can't get out of the rears (returned checks pass due accounts etc...). i have read and listened to Ramsey,Mundis, and Burrkette but need to have at least my main bills in good staning...Someone please help!

I know exactly how you feel! I am a SAHM, would love to get a part-time job, but my DH is in construction , works six days a week with unpredictable hours. We have a 15 you DD who could help watch our toddlers, but that isn't fair to her or her homework. My family all live over 50 miles away, so there goes my free childcare. I can't see getting a pt job and having to pay a sitter since we can't get ahead each month as it is! I am also afraid that if I get a pt job it will put ideas into my head that things are suddenly okay because of additional incomce, and get deeper into debt...funny how the mind works, isn't it?
I have sold a few things on EBay, but am figuring out that no one wants the crap that even I don't want anymore!
We have gone to cash only, but that has been hard, too, because my DH gets paid weekly, so instead of racking up $$ for the next month's cc bills, we end up practically "borrowing" from ourselves for the week ahead. Such a vicious cycle, this debt. Then the first of the month comes and we worry about paying the rent. I just can't believe we overextended ourselves to this level. I hate shopping to begin with, so I'd love to see what we got for all we have spent...
This really is a horrible feeling...but that's why we're all here. Hang in there.
Hugs--
Kathy

Hanging by a thread...not fun at my age!

Here's what we are doing! I made my dh sit down with me and write down all of our bills and our income. Then we went back in and cut things out, little things like we are only going to get the paper on the weekends now, and we are only going to get the milk delivery when it's not on sale at the grocery store, and only order milk, not juice or cheese or eggs! We both agreed on our plan and are going to hold each other accountable! I am working 3 part time jobs right now to hold up my end of the bargain. He picked up a part time job too.
Have you thought of working nights part time stocking at walmart/kohls/target/grocery store? Everyone is hiring for the holidays right now. Even if you do 1 night a week, it's extra! In our community we have blood plasma donation sites that pay $50 per donation too.... good cause, earn money for donating something you regenerate! We haven't done this yet, but it's been a doable option for us!
Hope this helps!
