Part time Job??

Well I am trying ever so hard to pay down the CC's and save up some money. I am a very impatient person. I did do well this past weekend with my garage sale $135.00 towards CC debt! I work a M-F job 40 hours per week. I was thinking of maybe picking up a weekend job just to bring in extra cash. Just wanted to know if anyone else is doing this. I do have a hubby and a 7 year old. I don't want them to feel neglected. I only want to work a part time job till x-mas or so, just to get some extra cash to get some of the smaller debts paid of sooner that way I can get my snowball really rolling. What do you think it is a good idea or not? I appreciate any input good or bad that way I know what I would be getting myself into.

Go for it!! Its only temporary. The trick is getting a job that won't cost you money.

I do work a part-time job, it is every other weekend so it doesn't suck up each weekend. The extra income is great and I like the job.

Previously I worked a part-time job at Target and that was every other weekend as well, they preferred you to work every other so you didn't get burnt out. The upside of that job was that I got a discount and the downside was that I spent way too much of what I was making there at the store instead of sending it to other bills that I was trying to pay off.

So I found the other pt gig in an office setting where those temptations wouldn't be there. It's great and I bet you'd be able to easily find something in retail with the holiday season coming up.

I think getting a p/t job is a good idea. Make sure you send the money you earn directly to your target bill. I'm sure it's easy to take that extra money and spend it on living expenses.

Good luck.
